A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
John 13:34-35

Adult discipleship at PUMC is best described in 2 simple words:
SMALL GROUP
Into their already jam-packed schedules, many PUMC’ers are setting aside time to connect with other Christians, to receive encouragement to grow in their faith, and to spiritually mentor one another.
Before and after Sunday’s church service, congregants gather and ask, “How are you?” and we almost always reply with a superficial “Good. You?”
In Small Group, typically 4 to 10 people that meet regularly, we ask, “How is it with your soul?” We listen to honest and heart-felt replies. We read scripture and share how it relates to our lives. We read books together and talk about their interpretation and implications. We encourage each other. We pray together.
Small Groups meet in a variety venues:
- Adult Sunday School class
- During Pastor’s Bible Study meeting
- In our living rooms or around our kitchen tables
- On walks and hikes
- At local coffee houses
In PUMC Small Groups, we grow deeper with our relationship with Christ. Through love, support and accountability with each other, we become disciples of Christ for the transformation of the world.
All anyone need do is contact the church office and say, “I’d like to be a part of a Small Group” and arrangements will be made. It will be life-changing.
